Aaron U. Jones founded Seneca Sawmill Company in 1953, and Seneca Jones Timber Company in 1992. These two companies work in partnership to grow high-quality timber and to provide high-quality lumber products. Intrinsic to this partnership is the management of over 166,000 acres of forestland in Western Oregon.  Seneca Sawmill has become one of the most technologically advanced mills in the world, and is currently the second largest-producing mill on one site in the United States. Seneca operates the two newest sawmills in Lane County, Oregon. Although Seneca has been in operation for over 55 years, we are constantly working toward a higher level of excellence.
The future holds many unique challenges for the Seneca Family of Companies. Through our sound forest management policies, coupled with our advanced sawmilling capabilities, we will continue to provide quality products to the marketplace.  Seneca has changed and grown in 55 years.

Employees gather around Aaron in 2004 to celebrate Seneca's 50 years in business.  He has led us through good times and difficult times with an extraordinary vision for the future and a dedication that is an inspiration to us all.
