New Anti-Stain Treatment

Seneca Sawmill Company always applies an anti-stain treatment to our green, surfaced lumber.  We are constantly looking for ways to improve our lumber, and based on our research and a survey of other mills, we are now applying a new anti-stain product.

Seneca now applies BRITEWOOD Z-40, an EPA-Registered Formulation, which is supplied by Contechem Inc.  BRITEWOOD Z-40 is an anti-fungal product designed to inhibit growth of molds and stains on lumber. Each piece of surfaced green lumber is sprayed on the two flat surfaces and two edges as it comes out of the planer. 

New equipment will provide a more consistent application of BRITEWOOD Z-40, which should protect the lumber from mold and stain for a longer period of time, depending on a variety of issues, including weather, storage conditions and transportation time and method.
